It's not that they don't matter, it's a money negotiation if a school

really want out. For instance, SMU will have no problem paying an exit fee if they are invited to the ACC. The Big12 and ACC exit fees however, are significantly larger. We may find out how large the negotiated exit fees will be with FSU - it has to pencil out in the long term.
