cville, are you comparing just the two football programs? The most attractive expansion target for The SEC is UNC. There's a small gap between them and number 2, UVa. If The SEC were able to add those two schools, they might just stop right there. Nobody else adds enough juice to The SEC footprint. Here's what matters: Football program -100% Basketball program - 100% Media market - 100% Fanbase - 100% TV viewers 100% Academic reputation - 100% New cable subscribers - 100% Feel free to add to the list. I could go on. But having a strong FB program will not move VT ahead of UVa in the expansion sweepstakes. Fans have their own ideas about what programs would be the best adds. But fans don't consider the bottom line for both the conference making the add nor the media provider. My opinion on this is no better than yours, I'm guessing just like everybody else.
