Yes, this is correct.

The reason it's about football now is because the NCAA keeps a ton of the money generated from the basketball tournament to basically pay for its own funding and the costs of operations for their other sports tournament, etc. If/once the big conferences breakaway and do their own basketball championship tournament, then they keep all of that money like is done in football. Basketball brands are very important in that case to draw in unattached viewers. I can see Kansas and Duke being very valuable in that case.
