The private capital firm would have to see their money brining a bigger value (money) to the B12. More with their money, than without. I can't imagine it's just borrowing money to pat the players, and be more competitive. There has to be a larger end game. The university presidents and AD's of the B12 are no different than the Presidents and AD's of any other conference. I have some ideas on how that money could be used to bring more value, but that's just one mans opinion. What ever happens, 5-10 years from now, things will be much different than they are today. Will a deal like this put them ahead of the pack, or will it doom them? Well hell, they are already doomed, and will not be competing with the P2 5 to 10 years from now the way things are - so really, what do they have to lose?
