The only reason these reporters can continue to make these predictions is

because the ACC and it’s TV partners haven’t definitively said when the media rights contract will end. If it’s 2036 then officially saying nothing makes zero sense. And if it’s 2027, then saying nothing makes all the sense in the world because this news would cause major concern within the conference’s fan bases. Ever since FSU revealed in their legal complaint last December that the ACC’s media rights contract could end in 2027 instead of 2036, speculation has been running wild. Whether it’s an opt-in or opt-out situation isn’t clear, but if ESPN is ending their partnership with the ACC as Dodd is now suggesting then it is hard to see how the conference survives as is past 2027.

They don’t have to drop it. They can just start a brand new contract

I don’t either, cuz Fox or Peacock or CBS will be glad to grab it…**

Nobody else can just "grab" the ACCN if ESPN declines to extend the r'ship-

It's not that bold a prediction. The fact it isn't already extended

Yes, the GOR has a 2036 date for a very specific reason

I don't think it's a re-negotiation. It's an option to extend

Doesn't the conference own all TV rights regardless of the carrier?

It's the best argument FSU has imo
