And not take any money for it. So the schedule stays, but ACC schools take FSU’s share. It’s pretty good money. How much?? What the guy said is basically akin to the ACC getting the same revenue but splitting the pie 13.3 ways instead of 14.3 (the 0.3 is ND) because FSU is playing their games but forfeiting their ACC revenue. (Remember, SMU, Cal and Stanford are basically getting nothing this year). So, if the ACC got $588M paid out last year (which divided by 14.3 equals $41.3M per school) and the ACCN adds revenue through addition of Dallas and Bay Area markets and states of CA and TX (Gotta be at least $10-12M), lets say that puts the ACC at $600M in revenue. Then there’s the CFP revenue that starts this year! The ACC gets 17% of 1.3B ($221M). Now Calford + SMU dip into this share, so thats now divided by 16 instead of 17 because FSU gives up that revenue as well. So, let’s compare the results per school…. (With FSU taking their share in parentheses) $600M divided by 13.3 = $45.1M (14.3 = $41.9) Then, CFP ACC distribution (17% of $1.3B) is $221M divided by 16 = $13.8M (17 = $13M) Total ACC distribution per school is $58.9M if FSU forfeits revenue ($54.9M if FSU doesn't) The average ACC school would see an increase in year over year revenue of about $17M when you’re staring down a $20M athlete pay scale added budget item. That’s not bad. And look…FSU is leaving ANYWAY. They’ve been saying this for a year. So this means the average ACC school sees an increase of $4M in revenue if FSU leaves in this fashion. And being as FSU is doing this whether we like it or not, I think a lot of schools might take that $4M over not taking $4M dollars. Plus they don’t have to deal with the headache of scheduling new games if they take FSU off their schedules.
