Exactly right. Alienating 50% of potential fans is a bad business model.

Sure, a bunch of us will still pay for ESPN channels through our cable and streaming packages ... can't help that. But I know I am alone in that if there is something to play for and my school isn't allowed to be part of it, then I am simply not interested. I don't care if Michigan wins a mythical NC that only 45 schools are allowed to compete for in the first place.
