The P2 think they are powerful enough to control the playoffs, and

maybe they are - but there are a 100+ Universities that may have a different take. It's why they are threatening to break away - but I think that is a bluff. I don't think the networks want any such thing, as they already have the content, and the viewers. Unless they think they can get more viewers than they have now, the P2 will have to deal with the rest of division 1 ball, whether they like it or not. I'm not convinced that viewership will be significantly better with two conferences. The P2 already have the money, power, and competitive advantage. They may be overplaying their hand.
