I don't think they're through "cutting out the middleman." Seems like the

whole industry overestimated the attractiveness of streaming. It's growing, but still no place close to profitable. And cable is shrinking, but not fast enough. Maybe this bundle is intended to bleed enough content from Comcast, et, al. to break them. Then we could see Disney moving their non-sports content over to the new bundle, followed by CNN, Fox News, HBO, etc. etc. Of course then they run up against the antitrust cops, as you suggested. Sports-only seems safe from that. In any case, it is a given that every move they make is driven by lust for profit. Call them bloodsucking scum, if you like. Not many will push back. But they do what they are bound to do for their collective shareholders.
