only reason to do it is to increase income. The way to make more money is to increase the number of higher quality games that will be viewed by more people. So who isn't playing that could be playing, and who would watch? Right now ESPN is negotiating with the PAC AND with Phillips. The only unknown is what another broadcast entity might pay. If the parties can't improve their bottom line they won't do a deal; there is no reason to. But find a way for all three to profit and there is no reason not to do it.
