“Reporter” is a stretch. He was more of a political advocate and then some.

Some would say he was an advocate for a terrorist organization. Whatever one wants to call him, it’s a misdirection to call him a reporter. That doesn’t justify his murder, but it wasn't some assault on “freedom of the press” like the narrative which has been created by many.
