When / If ACC schools leave for greener pastures, I bet it will happen

Syracuse, BC, Duke, Wake would fit in well with the Big East. I think VT, UVa, UNC, NCSU, Clemson, FSU, Miami, GT all check out of the ACC - or reform it under a new name. It's going to be a football version of the Metro --> GMWC conference breakup. Louisville, Pitt, SMU, Cal, Stanford will have to figure out where to go. L'ville, Pitt, SMU seem like good Big 12 additions. Some from the Mag8 may end up with that group too if there isn't a new conference born.

The time for a Big East-ACC merger was 2003 or before.

Sure, when the ACC turns into a G5 conference here in about 3-4 years.

What is your prediction for VT?
VT ChemE 1986 11/21/25 10:44 AM ET
I don't think VT is long for the ACC. I'm skeptical they'll go P2, but-

I don't think that is how it would go this time. Currently, UConn

I'll never figure out why SMU's problems had to be the ACC's problems.
