ND scheduling is a lot less important to P2 schools these days

particularly the bigger brand names. Why would anyone want to schedule a competitive OOC game in the middle of the season. Playing ND has even become much less a big deal for most ACC schools now that it is "been there, done that". ND will certainly survive and maybe even often thrive as an independent but their hold on the national conscience is lessening.
