I think we end up with a ratings based model

What I would do is something like this. A giant wild card weekend or two. And this would make up for getting rid of conference champ games. G6 each gets their top team and they play each other to get to 3. Then those 3 play along with ND to get to 2. Those 2 get into the 16 team playoff. The SEC and BIG each get their top 9 teams. ACC and B12 each get their top 5 teams. These 28 teams play a wildcard weekend with the top 14 going into the final 16 team playoff. Losers of the above go to bowl games. The SEC and BIG each have the opportunity to earn up to 9 of the 16 playoff spots.

We will eventually end up with a 4–4 – 2–2 – whatever scenario.

P2 won't go to 20. Only one school available that will bring the existing

Let's make the P2 really mad and do a 10-6 model.

Based on this argument, which I don't necessarily disagree with the logic,

As the P2s continue consolidating top tier teams, there will come a point

I don't think it will be arranged that way.
Maroon Baboon 06/06/25 09:20 AM ET
No conference championship games. And your second point is incorrect
hokieZ71 06/06/25 11:00 AM ET
My point isn't incorrect. It's just highly unlikely. And I concede that.

If and when the P2's have 20 teams each, then there is

Yeah, definitely won't be a 4-4-4.

I'm not making it a Big12 vs ACC thing. The Big 12 and ACC are equals.

Except the ACC makes more money, sends more schools to CFP, and has own TV**

Someone get Don King on the phone so he can promote the PPV ACC vs. Big XII
VTHokie2000 06/06/25 03:47 PM ET
It's wishful thinking that the P2 will surrender any money or power...

That's why they will offer 4-4-2-2
