Boo hoo. The SEC and Big 10 created super conferences. Nobody forced them.
When you add Texas and Oklahoma to a conference that already includes 5-6 teams that think they should be going undefeated and winning a national championship every single season, someone has to lose those football games. The trade-off for upsetting the balance of power even more than it already was, and starting the domino effect that resulted in the death of the PAC-12, was more money from Disney. At least the Big 10 recognized that, in adding Oregon, Washington, and USC, some of the programs they were adding or had added would be loss-absorbers like UCLA, Rutgers, and Maryland for the money teams to beat up on, in a conference that already had plenty of loss-absorbers like Purdue, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, etc. The SEC did not have this foresight - I guess they just assumed 4 and 5 loss SEC teams would be welcomed into the postseason with open arms.
Those corn pone idiots already are getting twice the money as the ACC; they should not get to turn around and cry foul when their 4 and 5 loss teams are not included in the post-season championship format. It's beyond stupid. This entire sport has gotten beyond stupid. We've got two conferences demanding 4 automatic bids to the postseason where they could also theoretically get additional at-large spots, in a divisional structure where 90% of the participating teams don't even have realistic access to the postseason.
