Both in predicting P2 choices & also in relation to spots still available. I just cannot see either of these P2 conferences going much past 20 members. You look at the past histories of the two conferences that attempted that, the WAC and a southern conference, both soon fractured from turmoil within. That many schools just do not jive and I think the B1G being spread from coast to coast would just compound the possible discord. So there most likely is just six spots left in the P2 if wisdom is at all being exercised in all this. You look at the history of the adds for the SEC, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Missouri, Texas & Oklahoma. All large state universities, the Aggies deviate a little but Texas is a huge state full of college football fans. Now the B1G, Penn State, Nebraska, Maryland, Rutgers, USC. UCLA, Oregon & Washington Schools of about the same stature as the SEC except maybe Rutgers being a clinker. I think this all does point to Virginia & North Carolina as being the prime choices for both the P2. I think it is very possible that the SEC & B1G will have a bidding war for those two. I think FSU probably has a spot in the B1G and another is reserved for Notre Dame in the near future. That would put the B1G at 22 if they score on UNC & UVA. If the SEC gets UVA & UNC, I think the SEC would stop at 18. I think the B1G getting UNC & UVA, is probably the only avenue for Virginia Tech getting in a P2, because then the SEC would take VT & NCST to have a footprint in those two populace states. That would give the SEC 18 members. I just don't see much other available for VT unless the B1G goes well over 20 members. Do people here think the B1G would go well over 20 to get the Hokies? Probably in the Frank Beamer days of old. But now? I think the Hokies need to raise their stock big time in football over the next couple of years. I think the ACC probably has that long with the court cases playing out. The way college football is going, no program needs to be sucking these days. That can also be said for the Razorbacks.
