Serious question: Looking at the 4* women's soccer recruits that choose UVa
UNC, FSU, Stanford, etc. How does VT make the top 20 with a team full of 3 stars? Coaching? Development? How can VT begin bringing in some more highly recruited players? NIL? Is that a thing in soccer? Jus curious. TIA

go up against the top dogs in recruiting for the 4 and 5 * players is like beating one's head against the wall.

...that's played in some European academy for the past decade than any 4 or 5 star American player any day of the week. Want to win in men's NCAA soccer...that's the route to go.
If some 17 year old is truly a 5* soccer talent in the US, then they shouldn't be going the college route. Those ratings are meaningless IMO.

About the time when we played VCU in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They had a couple of international ringers that year. [MSOC]

...then ACC teams started going overseas for players too.
But by golly they shut down little ole newcomer upstart Virginia Tech when it looked like we were on the verge of getting our first team NC.
