Day 3 Elevation Vacation………🦃❤️🥾🏔️
What a beautiful day today! My goal was to summit Trico Peak by hiking up a 4-wheel drive road up to Black Bear Pass, turn right and scramble up to 13,301’. Success!
Here is the data today: 7 miles total, 2100’ vertical gain, 3.5 hours up, and 1.5 hours down. Wind was better today, but I still had to cover all the skin.
Tomorrow the plan is to summit Mt. Sneffels at 14,155 glorious feet of altitude.
LET’S GO!

know in NE, along the Long Trail, above the tree line, the rangers warn hikers not to sally off the hiking paths since the vegetation is subarctic flora due to the elevation.....and could be damaged by hikers

their turn to be on the summit. Must be beautiful lack of unwanted noise.

I stayed on the summit and ate my lunch. The wind was calm and the views were outstanding.

down the switchbacks. We spent 3 days in Telluride, then headed back home to Steamboat via Imogene Pass. Sadly, we were the first non rescue vehicle that morning nthrough the trail after a horrific accident the afternoon prior. Family of 3 and friend of family rolled there Cherokee down a scree field.
