I always thought Bose speakers being overrated was another case of a good
company cashing in on their name by cheapening a once solid product. Apparently making a mediocre product and marketing the hell out of it has been their business model from the beginning. Audio nerds have been ripping on them sinces their beginning in the 60's.

Guess you can always invest in Accuphase audio equipment...
Just saying...lol (Don't think they do speakers, but they're probably at the pinnacle of home audio equipment.)

Bose are surely overated,, and have been for many yrs....
but they are/were not alone in the 'market as if we are great, when we really are fair'.

I have them in my Rogue...
They work fine for just casual listening in the car--at 64 I don't need to blow my brains out anymore; but after saying that, I remember just the other day Helter Skelter came on the radio and "I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!" from turning the volume up!

I worked with the grandson of the founder of Bose in 1991 ...
he wanted to blaze his own trail rather than work in the 'family' business. I believe his father did the same thing. I haven't kept up with him much but just looked him up on LinkedIn and he appears to have done very well for himself. I have Bose speakers in my car but otherwise think they are very overrated. I have always loved NHT (Now Hear This) speakers. Bought 3 in the mid 90's and still have them - incredible sound. ** Edited by vt90 at 6/10/2026, 10:57:01 AM

I have several Bose products and think they are better than most of the
others out there.

As on e comment says: Sounds like sour grapes. I use the quiet comfort
headphones and they were by far the best noise cancelling headphones when i got them (3 years ago). Reliable and still give me close to 20 hours on a charge. Were they pricey? Yes, but my due diligence said they were the best.

I gave my mom one of these for her kitchen, and I thought it sounded...
...pretty good in that environment. ** Edited by EDGEMAN at 6/10/2026, 10:44:12 AM
