Day 1 Elevation Vacation…………🦃❤️🥾🏔️
Hello from Ouray, Colorado! A completely new area for me with lots of mountains. The elevation in town is 7800’, so these mountains look huge.
I got a surprise with the Manager’s Special deal at the rental car company, A Rubicon Jeep. I am going to take it for a spin shortly on a mountain pass road to get some altitude acclimation started.
I am not sure if pics are going post. I will not add a pic on this post, but I will have 2 posts shortly with 1 pic and another post with 2 pics. 🤞🤞🤞

Did a little hiking, but that hot springs in Ouray* was revelatory after a long day, just floating there looking up at the big swan flying across the starry sky in the evening. This was sometime in September, I was in rapture. Ended up adding another day to my stay.
*looks like they rebuilt the thing, kinda liked the way it was but that's nostalgia I guess. Looks nice. Shows it's was a while ago.

Drove it a little today, no issues except for pull offs are few and far in between. I will park in a large area and hike it to the pass and then hike a mountain up there if it’s doable🤞🤞🤞

This pic is from Telluride but the colors in Ouray were pretty much the same
