near the university - but no more so than any small/average size city. There difference is the campus is very nice - right beside some of those areas. You don't go to HP for what else is in the area, but like anyplace, if you look hard enough there are interesting things. The HP president is a fundraiser extraordinaire. They freely admit they are a "life skills" institution - not heavy research or stereotypical academia. The list goes on and on. Naturally, on the outside, some might equate it with that nitwit 'camera' on their phone. LOL.

Plus a good deal of Engineering common sense.
