At the DMV with my son, for him to upgrade to his full adult license.
Prayers appreciated to lessen the wait time. Almost 1 hour in at this point.

know how to drive a motor vehicle, states should suspend the entire process of driver's education and DMV testing. Once someone turns 35, if they're still alive, the state should simply mail a license to the individual.
License plates should also undergo streamlining: personal vehicles wouldn't have a paper temporary tag or a permanent metal plate. The license ID "plate" should be a self-actuating hologram that appears when the ignition is turned on and a breathalyzer toot is passed.

The learners permit and a paper from the driving school IS your "real license", until they mail you the real, real one....
