Just needed to vent this morning.
I broke 3 ribs a week and a half ago slipping on the ice and any progress I thought I was making was thrown out the window last night while watching the Super Bowl when I sneezed. I thought coughing suck with broken ribs but sneezing took it to a whole other level. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated. Now excuse me while I take some Oxycodone.

Keep a pillow close to put there when you feel a cough or sneeze coming on.
What I remember really sucking was taking a dump. Do not let yourself get constipated, which narcotics can do I believe. Prune juice works really well.

Thanks
Was taking stool softeners when I got home from the hospital and have been to the bathroom a few times so I’ve cleared that hurdle. I do have a pillow close by for coughing but the sneeze was unexpected so I had no time to do anything. The mornings are by far the worst. The pain medication from the night before has worn off and laying on my back all night I just feel stiff and sore. I able to get out of bed by myself but that’s no picnic but once I’m up, I usually just walk around my house for a good 30 to 45 minutes just to loosen up which helps.

Sorry to hear about that Jeffroww. I had a bruised rib or 2 many years
back, and yes, laughing, coughing, sneezing all hurt a LOT when I only had 'bruised'. Multiple broken must turn that up to 10 and beyond.

I only broke one in November on a bike fall. It is not fun for 2 months.
As you have sadly found out, Sneezing is absolutely the worst pain. The ache goes away oh so gradually over 8 weeks (at least that was my experience at 70).

Trust us, broken ribs are nothing to sneeze at.
