I actually didn't get to see a platypus while I was there. Probably the only animal I didn't get to see that I would have liked to.

There are four species of Echidna, sometimes known as the spiny anteater, that live in Australia and New Guinea.

The platypus, sometimes known as the duck-billed platypus, lives on Australia and Tasmania and is one of the few species of venomous mammals.
