Ding Ding Ding! Pillsbury introduced Microwave Popcorn in refrigerated
vending machines in 1978. They were the first to make Microwaveable Popcorn to consumers.

2 - back in the early 80s
We developed a PET film that was lightly metallized to be a microwave receptor (susceptor). It was used in popcorn bags and sleeves for Hot Pockets, etc. I believe the first shelf stable bag was Act II.

Hmm Spencer patented Microwave popcorn in 1947 and Act II happened in 1984
There was a company that sold microwave popcorn before 1984. Hint: the original Microwave popcorn was sold in refrigerated vending machines..

Ding Ding Ding! Moisture inside an impermeable husk. The husk is what
differentiates popcorn from regular corn. 13% moisture works best.
