Played in the Pine Needles Invitational
last weekend. 2-man event with a "cut" after the 2nd day. Best ball format first 2 days, alternate shot the last day. Our 6th hole of the day was #1 at Pine Needles, a par 5 at about 500yds. My partner hit his drive to the 230yd marker. Had 242 to the hole. 3hybrid gets me front portion but he talked me into 3wd. Choked up a bit and cut iy loose. Never left the flag. Holed out for a 2. Albatross. Had never been done on the 30yrs of the tournament.

So awesome!! Were you worried when you got to the green or did
You see it go in??

Never saw it go in. We started looking behind the green
and in the pine needles but it was apparent it wasnt there. I thought it was too much stick (250-265) for my 3wd, but i guess i choked up enough. My pitch mark was about 20ft short but on line. It had to be cruising when it hit the flag!

Great score on a great hole with a wide array of scores
I've seen good players put up big numbers going back and forth between the greenside bunkers

Congratulations. Much rarer than a hole in one.

Much bigger deal than a hole in one on a par three! Played Pine Needles in January- great track!
