I use an older version of this:

And yes, I grind my coffee beans every morning. I think it's fresher, but you really don't get the freshest beans unless you either visit a coffee roaster or roast your own. But if you take cream, sugar, or an artificial flavoring in your coffee, don't bother with freshly roasted coffee because they mask the flavor. But if you drink your coffee black, then definitely go with fresh roasted beans.
