Different articles have very different statistics on that ...

as we learned from COVID, you can twist numbers any way you want to in order to support a position. But even if that is true, you are talking about the very largest companies who are publicly traded and have a responsibility to maximize profits. Do we want them to lose money? I don't. What is getting lost in all of this is the number of small and medium sized business having to close due to inflation. At some point, customers evaporate as prices rise and those companies are paying more for all of their goods and services. And many of them can't find employees so it is a double-edge sword. We are about to see a massive increase of companies laying off employees and that is when people may finally admit that we are in the recession we are already in.
