So my youngest son is there -for almost free
The Open has a lottery for camping/glamping type accommodations to allow young people (I think from 18-25 years old) to attend the Open at affordable prices. My son entered and won (and got to take 3 friends). They give them all the camping stuff- and have a food tent and shower facilities. And then allow them to attend all the rounds- practice and otherwise at very reduced grounds fees. So they flew over Friday to see the country and today rented golf clubs and played around, I think somewhere near Aberdeen, and will be at St Andrews tomorrow through Sunday.
Pretty damn sweet!
