What does it do? Stop cooking when it reaches temp?
I would buy a thermometer specific to your cooking style. I would suspect a built-in unit was an after-thought of sub-par parts inorder to up-sell the grill.
I use a handheld meat thermometer, with the needle-sharp tip and get perfect results. Plus, you can take temps from all over your meat, not just where you placed the prob prior to cooking.
