1916 on my mother's side. Late 1800's on my father's side. Grandfather...

...on my mother's side came through Ellis Island from Czechoslovakia as a child by himself. To honor that, I purchased a space on the immigrants wall of honor at Ellis Island years ago. His name is there...as well as the year he arrived. Gave the plaque to my mother on Mother's Day...and you can likely imagine the reaction that got. Probably the single best gift I've ever given.
