certain that there will be a long lockout next winter with a good chance of no baseball in 2027, I don't believe Nutting would have ever committed to this. The new CBA will almost definitely include both a salary floor and a salary cap (of some sort) and this will help them stay above the floor. Whatever ... Buccos fans rejoice! Pirates can actually compete for the post season this season (long shot) and whenever baseball returns after this season.
