Our rescue Pittie has become reactive, guarding my wife and son

Mostly from me. You haven't lived until you walk around corners in your house and a dog rushes at you barking... but stopping a foot or two away. When no one else is home? He sticks by me, though still cautious. He is especially protective of my wife. Once she sits down anywhere, he stations himself nearby. I can't come within 5-6 feet without growling and then barking. So three weeks in, we next are turning to a trainer.
