Governors School. Got an email simply saying that New River Community College is on lockdown and to stay away. Ok, I got a little worried. Next I heard it was because of a report of a gunman on campus. Now I’m scared. Texted daughter and no response. Fortunately our school resource officer here with the Blacksburg PD was here and I talked to him. He said it was a called in threat and they had a major police response but it didn’t seem credible. So I felt relieved. Still took 2hrs to finally hear from my daughter. Her response? “I’m good. It was just really boring sitting in a corner in silence for two hours. “ Stressful.
