Hidden Valley has a new football coach, he called me yesterday to go over a few announcing changes for the year. We played Staunton River last night. Only noticeable change was we have a paid third down sponsor who donated rally towels when the team is on defense to get the crowd involved. I have to read a small sponsor script to hype the crowd up, no problem it's 15 seconds at most. Apparently I have a mental lapse and I look at the scoreboard and see it's 3rd down. I do the sponsor script and realized we are on offense. Oops. My spotter couldn't stop laughing. The band is supposed to be involved and I confused the hell out of them too. We lost 37-7 so we all got a good laugh out of my goof.
