I've seen these little tiny orange colored fruits around the kitchen lately

and had no idea what they were, nor did I have any interest. Today, "you know who" presents one to me and tells me they are good for me. "They are a little sour, and don't eat the seeds", was the advice. It looks like a tiny, tiny orange, and I'm good with sour, so I toss it in the hatch. One chomp, and I'm thinking she is messing with me. "WTH? Who can eat this? Sour? Yeah, that's some kind of sour, alright", I say. I get up and head for the trashcan, but she smiles, blocks my path, and still insists that I need to eat it, as it is good for me. At this point I really can't tell if she is persisting with the joke, but I'm not eating it. I give her my patented head fake, and head outside to the compost bin. I learn that the little "delicacy" is a kumquat. So now I have done that. One and done. But there is more! About an hour later, I crack a beer and, strangely, it tastes like...bourbon! I thought something was wrong with the beer. But it turns out something is RIGHT with the kumquat! We may just have a future together.

I had a kumquat tree when I lived in CA. When I cut the lawn in the back
