EDGEMAN, or any other Lounge car guys. What are your thoughts on ->

flushing brake systems? How often is it really necessary? Also, spark plug replacement? My wife has a 2009 BMW 128i that she loves and won't get rid of. I'm not complaining, and I have to admit it is a great car. We've never had a problem, and I have gone through and replaced a lot of parts (suspension, top radiator, some interior). The car is vintage and she wants to hold on to it.. Every now and then, she will stop in to the BMW dealer (usually if I'm not around). They maintain a list of things they want to do. I do not trust them, and they have earned my distrust. If something substantial needs to be done, I take it to my mechanic. While I don't work on my own cars, I have a mechanic I have used for many years who I trust implicitly. My immediate question is how often should you flush the brake system, and how often would you replace sparkplugs if the car seems to be running smoothly and has excellent power response? Any thoughts would be appreciated TIA ** Edited by HOKIERIT at 5/19/2023, 10:16:33 AM

I generally flush my brake fluid every 2-3 years - I do it myself.

Should you flush your brake fluid? Just go with the old adage.
