My son lived everywhere from 4th to 7th street downtown and was a lifeguard at Presque Isle - he even won the Lifeguard Olympics and is memorialized in the lifeguard post. Days are usually pretty cool enough with a good breeze on the beach. You can spend the morning at the beach, hit the water park at Waldameer, then top it off with an orange swirl at Sara's! My son now lives four blocks from Lake Michigan. There is a decent walkable beach, but the next town North has one of the best beaches on the Great Lakes. Summers are just amazing. No endless weeks of 95/95.
