I'm completely fine with being "ignorant" of a biased conspiracy laden

"documentary". Of course being "ignorant" of a "documentary" in no way makes me ignorant of the situation. I'm plenty well informed on that and don't need to hide behind some biased propaganda to feel confident of that. I'm sure reading some KKK literature would give me "someone else's perspective" but that doesn't make it worth my time or me any less knowledgeable for not having read it. But again my point was not specific to any one case no matter how much you've tried to steer the discussion in that direction. And of course keep in mind it was YOU who felt the need to bring race into this to begin with. There's ignorance here but it's not on my end. You saw this topic and the very first thing you felt compelled to add was about racism. That's pretty telling if you ask me. Out of all the things you listed as putting words in your mouth, only one could be construed as that and that's me positing what you would have said if the cop had pulled a gun. Given your little rant at the end of your post about "the Blue" (again telling how you capitalize that but not Black) and "STFU and comply" I feel even more confident in my assertion. It and everything else you claim I "presume to know" is derived straight from the comments you've made in this thread. In the future if you're going to whine about having words put in your mouth maybe don't turn around and completely validate them in the same post. While we're talking about what you have and haven't said, you haven't once bothered to address any points I made regarding the overall inequity of policing and our justice system in this country. Instead you want to try to argue about George Floyd and some random "documentary". You drone on and on about what you "didn't say" but did you make any attempt to clarify what you do think? Did you say anything about police officers being held accountable? Did you call out that despite the three people you listed doing "something" wrong they still did not deserve to die? No is the answer to all those. Instead you routinely talk about "shutting up" and "complying" and then point to an inaccuracy laden documentary as some sort of evidence. Although here again you don't bother to say what it's supposed to prove... just what you "aren't saying" by invoking it repeatedly. Given all that... what exactly is someone reading your comments supposed to think? You've gone out of your way to not criticize law enforcement while making sure to speak to the mistakes of Black men who were killed by them. All I can go by are your words here and what you've said (and haven't said) is pretty damn clear. And while we're calling out putting words in people's mouths or misquoting I'll note that I only once mentioned 'knowing some cops"... not " a couple of times" as you mistakenly say. It was literally one sentence out of the dozens I've written on this topic and the point wasn't to give my opinion "added value". It was simply to acknowledge the many good cops that are out there and the difficult job they do. It was to clarify my position (something you refused to do as noted above). I've never supported "defunding the police" (although I do think the resources they are given could be allocated better). It is interesting though how here you act like having additional perspective is a bad thing but when it comes to your inane "documentary" the "perspective" is needed to prevent "ignorance"... funny how that works? Almost like you only consider "perspectives" that you agree with to be valid ones. The "I have Black friends" trope is usually trotted and mocked after someone says or does something overtly offensive so it's not really applicable here as I haven't said or done anything of that nature and in fact have made sure to note that my comments are about bad police officers being held accountable and the overall inequity in our justice system. You know... my two main points that you've repeatedly avoided speaking to.
