When it comes to music, I always marched to the beat of my own drum even

when I was younger. I guess that is why my music collection has gotten so large over the years because I still enjoy listening to the same music I enjoyed listening to as a tween/teen, in my 20s, and in my 30s now that I am in my mid-40s. Tween/Teen years - mostly 50s and 60s mixed in with a few pre-50s music depending on the genre 20s - mostly 70s and 80s 30s - mostly 90s and early 00s 40s - mostly music in a foreign language regardless of genre or year it was released It probably also helped that I enjoy listening to all genres of music including whatever is popular at the time. I do value today's music just as much as when The Penguins released their music in the '50s and '60s or when Bach was on top of the charts in the 1700s. I don't think that prevents me from thinking critically when the discussion compares today's pop music to pop music released by The Beatles in 1964 and 1968.
