Get a hand aerator. Punch lots of holes

Put seed in the holes. Top with potting soil. Water every other day. That way the roots will be deep enough that the grass should come back. And get Titan RX seed from Southern States.

Usually 7-10 days. Those coatings they put on those seeds, also sometimes
