Lifetime

Oddly enough, it might have turned out better than planned.

Gibbs-White and Eze were the top two targets for the No. 10, but that may be mostly because they are English (Spurs are up against it from a registration standpoint...they couldn't register Tel, for example, for Champions League). But is Simons the better player with a higher upside? Possibly. He's definitely the younger player. Oddly enough, they got Tel on loan last January because they didn't get Kolo Muani. Then they bought Tel permanently this summer (which I wouldn't have done)...and now they have Kolo Muani. I would have liked another left-footed defender, but it's hard to get everything in one window. And they probably should have signed Kyle Walker-Peters on a free since he's home-grown at the club. He could be a decent backup option, plus helps a lot with registration. Not sure why they didn't do that. Poor bloke plays for West Ham, now. ** Edited by Chris Coleman at 9/4/2025, 1:46:04 PM
