and he was near-ish to downtown SA - so if you were to stay on the north side it would be even less. We stayed at an AirBnB in Lago Vista (to stay away from the city - Austin) and it took us anywhere from 56min to 1hr 25min depending on the day (we went Friday/Sat/Sun) and strangely enough Sunday was the shortest travel time - both in and out of the track - even though Sunday had the largest crowds. Also we purchased parking tickets in the commuter/shuttle lot (both at COTA and Miami) - it never took more than 15min to get from the track to the highway - the shuttles have priority over everyone - with State Police assistance - the shuttle lot is about 10min or so from the track so it makes it very easy to come and go. Miami - the shuttle lots were literally an hour from the track (Miami traffic) and did not get special treatment from the authorities so we spent just as much time on the actual shuttle as we did driving to the lot.
