VT is the same with regard to deposit and housing...

The earlier you put in the deposit, the earlier you get in the line for housing. And, yes, if your daughter applied in October that was Early Action, and they were notified in mid-Jan. The regular decision application deadline was Jan. 15, and they will hear back my mid-March.
