VT should be more forthcoming. My son ended up at JMU and loves it there. My youngest is at VT. Your daughter can do what many do and that is go somewhere else and transfer back to VT if they want to. Many of our friend’s kids have done that and there is nothing wrong with it or if they find a different school they like…..
