When I was an internation telecom, our CEO fired the CIO, who was a close friend of mine, on New Year's Eve at 5pm. 10 months later, my division was cut on a Friday midday, which was glorious because I hated that job. My lead sales guy had accepted an offer and was going to go to Juniper. He had his resignation ready for COB that day. They gave us all two weeks severance for every year of service. Gilbert had been there 14 years. We had a good laugh over that
