This goes back to my first PC computer

My first PC was a nightmare to upgrade because it could only use proprietary parts from its manufacturer. Today you can buy any component from any manufacturer that meets the specifications to plug into your PC. Parts are also significantly less expensive today. I see the exact same thing happening with EVs now, and see the potential to make them far more cost effective. It's the same concept. Develop standards and release the free market to reduce the cost of update/upgrade. Today, anyone buying a used EV is a sucker because replacing the battery is a massive expense. You don't buy an EV for "long term" ownership.
