The original southern groundhog was General Robert E. Lee. His successor is named General Beauregard Lee. Both GREL and GBL lived at the Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn, GA for decades. When the ranch closed, GBL was moved to the Dauset Trails Nature Center in Jackson, GA.
