...a French company (Renault?) around the turn of the century. In recent years, their CVT transmissions have been utter crap, which has dragged their reputation down considerably. Subaru had premature head gasket failures way too long. It is supposed to be fixed now, but I have no idea. I wasn't happy with the BRZ engines having oil starvation because they had a problem with oil pan gasket material...they put too much RTV on the oil pans to seal them, and it flaked off clogging the oil pickup (or so they say). Also think that has been fixed, since I haven't heard any horror stories in the last couple years. As for Mitsubishi, they were going under and were purchased/rescued by Nissan. Just think of it as Nissan's "bargain" brand...lol. I hope one day Mitsubishi will be able to break away and start building cars like they did in the last century. (I have heard the Lancer Evolution might be manufactured again...fingers crossed.)
