How to even explain this, a lot of people do that, wake up one morning and realize that you've got to stop being a knucklehead type stuff. Maybe you can't explain it, your subconcious just works it out and something just clicks but he seems to be that guy that worked it out and realizes it's OK to move on from the life.
So now he's got this great career where he's even kind of a teddy bear ... but gets to keep all that street cred. This is perfect for advertisers too, put him in a commercial to give your product some of that cred without really scaring the audience.
